The Institute of Chartered Accountants Namibia (ICAN) made a significant impact at the recent Career Expo held from April 4-5 at the Windhoek Country Club. Attended by around 2200 school learners, this event provided a vital platform for students to explore career paths. Representing ICAN were Silas Shiimbi, the Digital Marketing Assistant, and Esther Omoregie, the ICAN Technical Manager. They educated learners about the journey to becoming a chartered accountant and the opportunities within the profession. The enthusiastic response from attendees showed a newfound interest in accountancy.
ICAN’s participation not only raised awareness but also inspired aspiring accountants. Looking ahead, ICAN remains committed to supporting the next generation of chartered accountants. With the success of their participation in the Career Expo, ICAN anticipates seeing more students pursuing careers in accountancy, ensuring a bright future for the profession in Namibia.
